Congratulations to the winner from Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas: Pamela Holmes

Holiday weight gain is very common between Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are a few studies that suggest it can be upwards of 5-7 lbs. This is probably why losing weight is the #1 New Years’ resolution goal. The holidays encourage overeating, sedentary behavior, and consumption of calorie-rich foods.

One thing you can do to help is trying a liver cleanse during this time. We call it Mini Detox Days, which is 1-3 days. Unlike what the latest fad detox diets popping up on your Instagram feed might have you believe, you don’t have to resort to a crazy juicing plan or long detox diets to help achieve physical and mental wellbeing.

We all have busy lives and although a 21-day detox is beneficial for your system, sometimes you just can’t make it work with your lifestyle. (like mine!) And I know how overwhelming detox plans can be—planning, shopping, preparing.

Along with drinking enough water and getting adequate sleep, there are real (and delicious) foods you can eat to help remove toxins from your body naturally. Check out this post on our Mini Detox Tips

For today’s Contest Entry: Share your thoughts in the comments below. Do you typically gain through the holidays? Do you set weight loss goals every year on Jan 1? Have you ever tried a cleanse or detox?

I always gain during the holidays. my mind resorts back to the things I always ate when I was younger during Thanksgiving and Christmas and I seem to crave them during that time. My mom always made homemade candies at Christmas time and it’s just too difficult not to eat them. And yes, I plan on dieting again after the first of the year. ?

I usually stay pretty consistent even during the holidays as I remember what got me in trouble in the first place. I try and make “healthified” treats for myself. Usually we have a vacation planned for after Christmas so that is also motivation for me to really stay on point

Sigh… I am one of those who gain through the holidays. This year I thought I could start a program and see it through the holidays but after a few mishaps I decided to relax and just enjoy each day without stressing over food. I went my husbands xmas party last week and felt fantastic in the outfit I chose, no comparing myself to others or avoiding the yummy food. We have been sticking with our workouts and right after xmas we will be working with a personal trainer to amp things up along with making healthier food choices.

I usually lose weight over the holidays because I’m running around so much. I stopped making Jan. 1st/New Years resolutions years ago…too much negativity attached to that way of thinking. Every day is a new day fill of new possibilities! The best cleanse I’ve ever used is the cleanse of healthy eating…cutting out junk and poisonous additives has made a world of difference to every aspect of my life!

Those darn Carvel snowmen ice cream cakes get me EVERY time! Of course I probably wouldn’t gain as much, if I didn’t eat practically the entire top chocolate layer (and cookie crunchies), all by myself! I take detox baths fairly regularly, but would be interested in trying the liver cleanse! New round beginning December 30th, after the last round of company visits! Happy Holidays!!!

I may gain over the holidays but I will get right back on track the following day. I’ve never tried the detox but would love to. I will not let myself go back to feeling rotten. ❤️

I drink ACV, organic lemon juice, ground ginger, cayenne pepper, ceylon cinnamon and stevia over ice. It’s like spicy lemonade and I love it!
I do usually gain over the holidays, but this year I’m limiting myself to SF low carb sweets and plenty of proteins! So far, so good! ?
