If you want to achieve a healthy life, vegetables should be on your daily menu plan. A diet balanced with healthy vegetables will give us many health benefits as well as give us a boost in our physical condition.

Healthy living may require some planning and a few extra minutes but we will reap the lifelong health benefits of having vegetables in our diets daily. Because vegetables provide numerous vitamins and are low in calories, they are great for maintaining a healthy lifestyle as well as weight loss. The darker green leafy vegetables you eat, the more health you will gain and the more weight you will lose!

Vegetables play a very important role in your overall health and digestion of everything that you eat. Even vitamin supplements can’t replace the benefits of eating fresh vegetables. Eat a full range of colors when you choose your vegetable servings.  With the continuous eating of colorful vegetables, you are assured that you can start living a healthy and strong life. Nutrients taken from the vegetables help protect the body from diseases and tissue damage.

Make sure you prepare your vegetables to obtain the most nutrition possible. Over-processed vegetables might be an easy fix if you are constantly on the go, but fresh vegetables simply can not be beaten for their nutritional value to your body. Raw vegetables are best, and if you prefer cooked then try steaming them or lightly sauteing them in MCT oil. If possible, avoid the microwave if you can. I personally don’t opt for microwaved food because I know cooking them another way is safer.

Vegetables are loaded with fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, and E, and more importantly, the water-soluble vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and C) which are vitamins needed daily. While our bodies can store fat soluble vitamins, water soluble vitamins are quickly eliminated from our system every day. What our bodies don’t use is simply flushed from our system.

Focus on including 3 to 5 servings of vegetables to the daily diet. Eat them as snacks instead of chips or crackers. Raw vegetables with guilt-free Heavenly Ranch Dressing makes for such a tasty and healthy snack.

Remember that healthy living and healthy eating isn’t something that you just do a couple of days out of the week. Healthy living and healthy eating need to be a lifelong obsession. In order to reap the health benefits of taking care of your body, you need to include vegetables daily.
