Ginger has been used as a natural remedy for many ailments for centuries. Many who use ginger find relief from morning sickness, motion sickness, heartburn, migraines, menstrual cramps just to name a few.

Ginger has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties which are very comparable to aspirin and ibuprofen. So next time you are experiencing pain and inflammation, think ginger before drugs.

You can eat the ginger raw or cook it.  I like to add it to my dishes, especially to stir-frys and my favorite recipes Hot and Sour Soup and Chicken & Bok Choy. It’s really easy to chop or use a microplane or grater. I keep my ginger in the freezer so it’s ready anytime I need it. I freeze the whole root in a zip-lock bag. When I need it for a recipe, I use a knife to shave the peel away, then use a zester/microplane to grate the desired quantity.

If I do a strenuous workout at the gym, I eat a meal that includes ginger. I also add a touch of it to my protein shakes. And of course it’s an ingredient in HealthPro meal replacement shakes!

Buy Ginger tea or add shave some into your tea using zester/microplane. Ginger tea is great cold or hot.

Stuffy nose? Place a slice of ginger and a slice of lemon in a mug of water. You can add some honey or stevia if you want to sweeten it up. Great to clear out your sinuses!

Combine equal parts of finely chopped ginger, green chili pepper, and garlic. Great for your favorite  spicy dish and great mixed in eggs.

Add ginger to rice. Really good if you make your rice with coconut milk!
