Bell peppers not only offer lots of natural flavor for very few calories but they’re also loaded with nutrition. This recipe is simple and has a few added ingredients to help detox the liver and aid in weight loss.

Red chili peppers contain capsaicin, a compound responsible for the “heat” in hot peppers which may help with appetite control and increase the rate at which the body burns calories. You can add fresh red chili peppers or sprinkle some flakes over the dish for added “heat” and metabolism booster.

Simple Stir Fry

  • 1 chicken breast, cut into bitesize pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. healthy oil
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons liquid aminos (or coconut aminos)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • Sesame seeds

Heat one tablespoon oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 5 minutes on each side, or until no longer pink in the middle.

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan along with the red pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the pepper just barely starts to soften. Add the liquid aminos and cook, stirring a few times, for another 3 minutes.

Top with green onions, sesame seeds and red pepper flakes.
