Substituting applesauce for oil is one of my favorite healthy baking tips. It not only cuts down on calories, it is healthier for you than oil, and it’s cheaper! And I have found it makes for super moist results.

To substitute applesauce in place of oil you can do a simple swap – ie. substitute 1 cup of oil with 1 cup of applesauce. Or you can play around with it to find what you and your family likes. Start with 1/2 cup of oil with 1/2 cup applesauce and then work it to your liking.

NOTE: Applesauce is not a great substitute for butter.
