Homemade apple chips are a remarkably addictive snack. Unlike their store-bought counterparts, however, this apple chips recipe uses no sugar and the chips are baked, not fried. These homemade apple chips are delicious, crunchy, and healthy! And bonus… I promise your house will smell amazing!

All you need are apples and Ceylon cinnamon. I love to use a variety of apples, but any sweet-crisp apple will do nicely. We suggest Ceylon cinnamon because of its amazing benefits. Consumed daily can give you positive effects on blood sugar levels, digestion, immunity and more! (Read More)

Wash, core and thinly slice apples. Lay the slices in a single layer on baking sheets lined with parchment paper or a Silpat mat. Sprinkle evenly with cinnamon.

Place one oven rack in the upper third of your oven and a second rack in the bottom. Bake the slices at 200 for 1 hour in the upper rack and then move it to the lower rack. Continue baking for 1 more hour or until you are happy with the crispness. (It will vary depending on your apple and the thickness of your slices) You can test it by removing a chip and letting it sit at room temperature for 2-3 minutes. You can do two pans at once, alternating the upper and lower racks.

Turn off the oven and let the apples sit in the oven until the oven cools. This will help them get even more crispy.

Store them in a container for up to a week. Add them to your oatmeal, yogurt, with granola, toss on top of salads and, of course, right out of the container!
