Apples & Cinnamon – Breakfast of Champions

Apples have antioxidants and flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C, thereby helping to lower the risk of colon cancer, heart attack and stroke.

Cinnamon is know to increase energy and speed up the metabolism and as a result your body will burn more calories which will aid in weight loss. Here are a few recipes that blend apples and cinnamon together for a delicious healthy breakfast.

Apple Cinnamon Pancakes
2 eggs
1 ½ scoops Vanilla protein powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 apple, peeled, cored & cubed
1 Tbsp. ground flax seeds
Coconut oil or MCT oil
Mix all ingredient except oil in a blender or Magic Bullet and blend until well mixed. Spray heated pan with MCT oil, or rub with coconut to coat. Spoon the batter into the heated pan, creating a pancake. Flip the pancake when the edges are lightly browned and cook until done. Top with butter, pure maple syrup, honey, agave nectar or sprinkle with cinnamon.

Apple Pie Pancakes
3 eggs
1 ½ scoops Vanilla protein powder
1 tsp apple pie spice
1 apple, cored & peeled
Coconut oil or MCT oil

Mix all ingredient in a blender or Magic Bullet and blend until well mixed. Spray pan with MCT oil, or rub with coconut to coat. Spoon the batter into the heated pan, creating a pancake. Flip the pancake when the edges are lightly browned and cook until done. Top with pure maple syrup or sprinkle with cinnamon.
