Using visual images can make changes to your life, weight, health and really any area of your life. Many set goals every year and write them out. I want to encourage you and teach a lesson on using images to make permanent changes.
Scientific studies show that the more senses you add to your imagery, the more powerful the results will be. The reason these techniques are so powerful is that they tap into both the left and right parts of your brain. For people who have trouble seeing things with their eyes closed, just use all the other senses to imagine what you want to create.
Make a point of spending a few minutes a day visualizing yourself reaching your goals; seeing, hearing, feeling a visualization as you can! Bring colors, sounds, smells, and tastes to your visualization. Put yourself into the picture so you actually see yourself getting and having what you want. A person with no vision will easily return to their past and old ways.
We can see from the Story in Genesis 30 when Jacob was leaving Laban and used imagery to create spotted livestock. 37 Then Jacob took fresh sticks of poplar and almond and plane trees, and peeled white streaks in them, exposing the white of the sticks. 38 He set the sticks that he had peeled in front of the flocks in the troughs, that is, the watering places, where the flocks came to drink. And since they bred when they came to drink, 39 the flocks bred in front of the sticks and so the flocks brought forth striped, speckled, and spotted. 40 And Jacob separated the lambs and set the faces of the flocks toward the striped and all the black in the flock of Laban. He put his own droves apart and did not put them with Laban’s flock. 41 Whenever the stronger of the flock were breeding, Jacob would lay the sticks in the troughs before the eyes of the flock, that they might breed among the sticks.
The lesson here is you will produce the images you put before your eyes. Dream big! Cut out pictures of how you want to look, eat and feel and put them before your eyes daily.
If it will work for a cow it will surely work for you!
