Classic Summertime Smoothie
My grandkids and I have been having a lot of smoothies this summer. We love this strawberry banana smoothie for a snack and but it’s also great for breakfast. It’s cool, creamy and refreshing.
Strawberries are rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants—they are among the top 20 most antioxidant-rich fruits. Bananas are a good source of fiber, potassium, and magnesium. Your body digests the sugar in a banana more slowly than refined sugars, so you notice lasting energy, rather than a sugar rush and crash. Naturally-sweet bananas are a healthy way to satisfy your craving for sugar.
When you’re craving a sweet frozen treat, this strawberry banana smoothie is a delicious option!
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
1 cup fresh strawberries, preferably organic
1 medium banana
1 cup non-dairy milk of choice
1-2 Tbsp raw organic honey (+- to taste)
1 cup ice cubes (or use frozen fruit)
Place everything into your blender and blend until you have a thick and creamy smoothie. Enjoy!
Options:
You can add other fruits such as mango, raspberries, blueberries, etc.
You can also add greens, yogurt, and seeds.
You get the idea… But this summer, I’ve stuck to the “classic” recipe because it reminds me of my childhood and I want my grandkids to have a taste of my memories 😉
