Turmeric has long been touted as a superfood; thanks to its compound curcumin that is known to have health-promoting properties as well as being loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. 

This powerful turmeric tea will help you detox the liver and shed a few pounds!

This tea works best with fresh ginger and turmeric but you can also use ground seasonings. When using fresh, you cook all the goodness into the water and drain out the excess. This make for a “clearer” tea and is more enjoyable.

Detox Turmeric Tea

  • 1/2″ ginger, chopped or grated (or 1/4 tsp ground)
  • 1/2″ turmeric (or 1/4 tsp ground)
  • 1/2 tsp. Ceylon cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon juice
  • 8 oz. water
  • Pure honey, if desired

Boil the ginger and turmeric with water for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the water into a teacup or mug. Stir in turmeric and lemon juice and drink it right away for best results.

Works best to drink about 1 hour before breakfast. You can also drink before bedtime as this tea will help improve your sleep.
