While buying organic is always the best option, sometimes it’s not available (or affordable). And even when you buy organic, produce needs to be washed because you don’t know what or who has touched your produce before it even reached your cart.

This is a simple wash that will loosen debris, remove pesticides, and eliminate some of the bacteria that other grocery workers and shoppers may have passed on to your produce.

DIY Fruit and Veggie Wash

  • Spray bottle
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Combine and spray your fruit and veggies with the mixture, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse.
