Help for PMS or Bad Moods
If you are in a bad mood or experiencing moodiness from premenstrual syndrome (PMS) there is a tendency to head to the refrigerator to scavenge for junk food. Research shows that continual bad moods or women who experience moodiness from PMS may have an underlying condition where calcium isn’t used properly by the body during times of low estrogen in the menstrual cycle. Consuming at least 1000 mg of calcium each day has been found to effectively alleviate depression and anxiety and very helpful for women who experience PMS.
Greek yogurt is a great dairy pick and is packed with more calcium than you’ll find in milk or regular yogurt, which is good news for your mood! Calcium sends signals alerting your brain to release feel-good neurotransmitters which helps your body “Get up and Go!” Inadequate calcium intake can lead to anxiety, depression, irritability, impaired memory, and slow thinking. Greek yogurt also contains more protein than regular yogurt, making it a terrific stay-slim snack. My Greek-yogurt pick: Fage Total 2%, which packs an impressive 10 grams of protein per serving.
I really believe that Fage is the best Greek yogurt on the market. I did a LOT of research on yogurts, including contact Fage. They assured me that their products are all produced with the least amount of processing and all very high quality ingredients. It is by far the best tasting (to me) and the most creamy. As most of you know, I normally suggest that you do not to use fat free or low fat products because the manufactures have stripped away good ingredients and then added so many bad ingredients in the process. When
Enjoy Any Fage PLAIN but stay clear of the ones with added fruit as most have added sugar and corn starch. We suggest adding your own fresh fruit, especially blueberries. According to a study conducted by the University of Michigan on the health benefits of blueberries are good anti-depressants. Their natural sugars keep one in a good mood and they help the mind to stay active and sharp.
My favorite thing to do with yogurt is add Healthy Choice Granola or Apple Nut Crunch.
