I love barbecue sauce, but it’s one of those high sugar condiments that I typically avoid. Especially the processed brands that contain high fructose corn syrup. 🙄
This homemade sauce recipe is made with simple ingredients and easy to make. So good on chicken, ribs, steak, veggies—so many possibilities.
KC Style Barbecue Sauce
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 3/4 teaspoons sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried ground chipotle chili pepper
- 4 tablespoons date spread
Blend all ingredients together in a medium saucepan. Simmer over medium-high heat until the sauce begins to bubble. Serve or store.
