Indian Spiced Burgers

Ready for something quick and easy to throw on the barbecue this summer? Want to give your burgers an Indian flavor? Then you need to try this wonderfully healthy recipe. The curry and the peanut butter add such a unique and exotic flavor you’ll think you are in the far east, or at least at the local Indian cuisine place in town!

Indian Spiced Burgers

1 lbs  lean ground beef or turkey
2-4 tb  white onion, minced
1-3 tb  garlic, minced
1/4  cup water
1-2 tb  sweet curry powder
1 tsp  cilantro
1 tsp MCT Oil
1/4 cup of crunchy peanut butter (optional)
2 tsp cyrstallized ginger chopped
1 slice of white cheese

Soak the onion and garlic with water for 5 minutes. Drain off any excess liquid and combine the onions and garlic with the ground beef, curry, cilantro and MCT oil.  Mix well and form into 4 patties.  Grill or broil to your degree of doneness.

If adding (optional) peanut butter, turn the burger once and add 1 tsp of peanut butter to each patty and continue to grill to soften the peanut butter.  Chop the crystallized ginger into small bits and sprinkle on top of the peanut butter for topping.  You can subsitute your cheese of choice as an alternative.

Serve alone (as shown) or on whole wheat or sprouted grain bun. Can add lettuce, sliced tomatoes, etc. Also good as a lettuce wrap.
