A salt water flush is designed to help you cleanse your colon and digestive system by bringing on a forced bowel movement. And by forced, we mean it will happen—sometimes within 15 minutes!
Our bodies build up toxins and waste in the colon over time. This results in digestive issues and can contribute to inflammation and low energy.
This concoction will push waste through the body, releasing toxins, and helping to get your digestive system back on track.
Start with 1/2 – 1 teaspoon of sea salt per 8 ounces of warm water. Make sure it’s pure salt with no added iodine! Depending on your body, or how plugged up you are, you can adjust the dosage. You can also add lemon juice to the mixture as it tastes salty!
The salt water flush is most effective if you drink it on an empty stomach. Start with it first thing in the morning and if you do it later in the day, make sure you haven’t eaten anything in the past two hours. Depending on how much salt you use, you may feel an urge to use the restroom within 30 minutes – 1 hour.
Although it should not be used regularly, a saltwater flush is a safe, simple and effective way to clear things out entirely now and then.
You should drink 8 ounces but you can make more and store the mixture in an airtight container.
