The Buzz on Bee Pollen
I first started taking bee pollen because I knew it was great for increasing energy levels, but I found out it has a lot of other great benefits including better focus and a clear head!
Pollen contains an enormous amount of essential vitamins and minerals, helping nourish the body. It’s a must for those with unhealthy eating habits!
Bee pollen is so full of nutrients that it alone could sustain human life!
Our 8 top reasons to consume bee pollen!
- Boosts energy.
- Increases your metabolism by dissolving fat cells in the body.
- Reduces inflammation.
- Stimulates the immune system.
- Helps relieve stress.
- Helps regulate hormones.
- Promotes healing, especially for burns.
- Protects against liver toxicity.
My favorite reason to have bee pollen is for its natural energetic boost with no jittery side effects like you would get from the unnamed and incredibly unhealthy energizer drinks. You also won’t experience that awful crash after the high you may receive from said drinks. I just feel like I have more energy when taking bee pollen.
It is very high in B vitamins, which are helpful in providing the body with energy, and it is rich in amino acids like L-glutamine and antioxidants, which are beneficial for modulating the immune system.
Bee pollen is also great for weight loss because it improves your metabolic rate. The L-glutamine is a key nutrient steadying our blood sugar level which is extremely helpful with controlling sugar cravings and withdrawals. You could potentially squelch the desire for dessert and other snacks requested by the pesky sweet tooth by supplementing with bee pollen.
You can buy granular bee pollen in the refrigerated section of a health food store. If you are an online shopper, you could try this brand, but you could reap an additional benefit of beating seasonal allergies by finding a local source of bee pollen gathered from your area. This will add the local allergens to your bloodstream which will prevent your body from creating histamines to fight against them when they enter your body through the air. I have also found them in the supplement section (by the Flax oil) at our local whole foods store.
How to Use Bee Pollen
The most common way to use it is when it’s ground and mixed with foods. I love this brand. You can also add granules to smoothies, cereal, granola, yogurt, Acai smoothie bowls, etc. Every morning, before starting my day, I tuck a few granules under my tongue and let them dissolve. Everybody is different, so see what works for you and let us know in the comments.
