Souping for Detoxing
I am sure you have heard of juicing or doing a juice fast, but have you ever heard of souping?
While juicing is a great and effective way to cleanse, it can be downright uncomfortable, leaving you feeling cold and hungry – almost like you’re simply missing out on eating.
Well, souping is a quick and easy way to cleanse during the winter months and you actually feel like you’re chewing and eating in the process. You don’t have to eliminate all food except soup; just replacing a meal or two with a bowl of soup every day is of benefit to your detox.
Souping provides fiber that juicing actually extracts, and fiber is important for bulk and cleaning out the pipes. Fiber also helps stabilize blood sugar levels which prevent the hangry mood swings – which lead to stuffing your face full of the first thing you see.
Simmer up a pot of soup for a delicious way to nourish and cleanse your body. This will flood your body with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and antioxidants your body needs to rev up your detox engines.
IDEAS: garlic, onions, carrots, dark leafy greens, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, whole grains – like brown rice, quinoa, and corn, and legumes – like beans and lentils. Get creative. Refresh and renew with soup!
